snow likely tomorrow mixing in with some rain is now the town. the 95 corridor will probably be cut off. north and west, pure snow. between 3:00-6:00 a.m., it should be out of here quickly. anywhere between one and four inches of accumulation. maybe four inches in the typical colder locations of frederick and carroll counties. i will break of dawn brother -- i will break it down further. but first, not around us and what they're doing to prepare for the storm. -- nadia ramdas. >> many people including the road crews are preparing for the possible third storm this week. right behind me, one of the locations where they will be loading up on salt to keep the roads safe. maryland state highway administration officials deployed cruise early today

pretreating roads with salt to help keep roads safe even before this hits. the cruise will be brought in at midnight -- the crews will come in at midnight and will be fully deployed in the metro area. we will have up to 2400 trucks statewide. as they prepare for the possible winter weather, state highway officials say motorists should be prepared as well. >> if you have a winter survival kit in your car, that's a good time to think about making one. it is never a good idea to travel at the onset of a storm. plan ahead and travel if you can. >> they are asking motorists tonight to try to delay travel tomorrow if the storm hits the area. by delaying travel come it will allow the crews to clean up areas and ultimately make it safer. live in north baltimore, wbal-tv 11 news.

headquarters in downtown baltimore with more. >> police are investigating and right now they're considering this insults and they're making good progress in finding the attackers. -- are considering this an assault. >> i was holding the hands up to block my face. >> this is the picture of 30- year-old kenni shaw after being repeatedly punched and kicked in the head. >> i was in the fetal position. i cannot see. my eyes were swollen shut. but the brutal beating happened christmas night. he left the only store that was open in his neighborhood. he had just left of this liquor store on milton street. he only got one block away when a group of five or six men surrounded him. suddenly, one man hit him. >> he punched me right here. >> he wondered why he was attacked. >> i asked them why? he punched me again.

after that, i was on the ground. >> he received at least 10 more punches to the face. he's not sure how many were hitting him. he only heard these words at the end of the attack. >> they made a remark at the end of the attack. it "if you had money, we would have brought you." >> -- we would have robbed you. ." mentally, he is scarred. we want to get the justice that he deserves. >> he tells them weeks ago that he was taunted and now he believes he was a target. >> i think it was a hate crime because i am a homosexual. >> i don what my son to feel like when i get off work that he cannot go to a corner store to pick up something because he might get the up.

to sell drugs. the 36-year-old smith learned his fate last week at the sentence tacked on for the 15 years he is already serving for guns and weapons charges. it all happened on east lafayette ave. they witnessed smith going in and out of the house selling drugs, the entire time holding a child wrapped in a blanket. once they try to get inside, he left his baby in the entryway which put the baby in danger of being trampled. the police were able to care for the child until its mother arrived. >> earlier this month, the morgan state board of regents voted to oust its president, dr. david wilson. >> after weeks of outcry, the board met to hear testimony from the public and decided to extend his contract by one more year. the announcement came down within the last 30 minutes after

a more than four hour meeting. dr. wilson's contract will be extended until june 2014. at this point, the action of not renewing his action still stands as of december 4th. >> it is hard for me to love any entity more than i love morgan state university. >> that was morgan state president dr. david wilson in mid december at eight campus rally days after learning the board of regents would be letting his contract expired in june 2013. the vote was tied, 8-7. -- the vote was tight. they are now reconvening to hear from the public to make sure they made the right decision. toi think it's a bad idea fire the president's in the middle of a school year. it's one of those things where people are really telling us

president obama in today's talks feels he has the advantage back and that he will press on his original demand that income taxes rise on earnings over $250,000. it's a positive sign, the first meeting since mid november the four congressional leaders at the white house. called by president obama, house speaker john boehner is a key figure. >> the fact that he has come back to me says that they cannot come up with some kind of agreement. -- that they can come up with an agreement. >> both sides want to avoid middle-class tax cuts. the hang up is the tax hikes on the rich. those making over $250,000 in the obama reposal or $400,000, a level that mitch mcconnell reportedly said he might be able

>> still waiting on a damage estimate after a messy car crash in. historic wall at mount vernon park in danger of falling. police are warning anywhere near the park to be careful and they are roping off areas near the park. investigators tell 11 news a man driving a four-door sedan and fell asleep at the wheel crashing into a wall and flipped over. we are told driver was not hurt, but a passenger was taken to the hospital with a neck and back injuries. the lafayette monument was dedicated back in 1924.

>> a shortage of chemotherapy drug it, and a batch of alarming statistics showing that supplies are running low and could impact health and cause the disease to return. in 2010, a hodgkin's lymphoma out medication was in low supply day prescribed a substitute. researchers at st. jude looked at hundreds of medical records and they found one in four given the new treatment had a relapse compared to one in eight that were given the original. none died, but those who relapsed did need more toxic drugs to recover. the secret to treating millions of cancer patients might be hidden in a mushroom. it is called the turkey tail, commonly found in northwestern forests. physicians have been using it for centuries to boost the body's immune systems and researchers at a natural healing university got permission from

there but they should be thickening up and the cloud gets closer. this is getting its act together along the gulf coast. this will not be a blockbuster story big nor'easter, but will produce a few inches of snow. it's on a holiday weekend, so there will mought be a lot of traffic. precipitation is still a good distance away. it will start sometime between 3:00-6:00 a.m. you can look at this radar signature and see that this is not a big storm. it is fast moving. just a little bit of snow on the top side and it will come through in about eight hours and drop a few inches of snow. you can see all the winter weather advisories all the way to the mid-atlantic. like most storms in baltimore, the type of precipitation will be a tough call and we will use the magic line, the 95 corridor, like we do for morse -- most

storms. a mix of rain and snow to the south and moseley's new to the north. this does not mean you will not get any snow accumulation out of this out all. you might, but it will be closer to an inshore less than that. for those in the western suburbs, it will be a fairly decent snowfall. from baltimore south, 1 inch or less with a mix of rain and snow. in the 95 corridor, 1-2 inches of snow. central baltimore county, carol, frederick, 2-4 inches of snow. near the pennsylvania line, we will say three-5 inches right here. this is the way we see this at the present time. it is a respectable storm. increasing clouds tonight and

particularly protected. the department of human resources and the credit bureaus are already in conversation and figuring out what is the easiest way to do that. >> the attorney-general office plans to post information on their web site to help them through the process of freezing credit reports. you have to contact each one separately. live in the studio, wbal-tv 11 news. >> here's a look of some of the other top stories. the insta-weather + team is closely monitoring what could be another round of rough winter weather. the national weather service has issued a winter weather revisory starting at 3:00 tomorrow morning lasting until at least 6:00 for eight counties in maryland. they're getting ready for possible accumulation and pretreating state roads in baltimore, hartford, and cecil county. if you have to go out tomorrow, they advise you wait until later in the day to let crews clear the roads.

the brutal attack on christmas night have police searching for clues. the 30-year old kenni shaw was leaving the liquor store in east baltimore when he was attacked by a group of five or six men. he believes he was targeted because of his sexual orientation because they did not take anything from him during the attack. they will not confirm or deny that the assault may have been a hate crime. they're making solid progress in the search for his assailant. no picketing expected this weekend as the soon-to-be expired contract has been extended averting the strike by more than an 14,000 on major ports on the east coast. talk of a possible strike on sunday could have crippled operations at the port. they handle 40% of all u.s. container cargo. major steps have been made toward resolving the ongoing

>> for the second time in a month, a man has been pushed onto the subway. they're searching for the woman in the security video crack it -- the secret video. she pushed him into an oncoming train and then took off. they are releasing the man's identity, but we're told he died on the scene. the other incident happened december 3rd. a woman has been charged in connection with the slaying of two volunteer firefighters shot in upstate new york. she is charged with filing a falsified business record in connection to the shooter's purchase of the guns used during the attack.

let's start with the current conditions and then we will get into the details. 38 right now at the airport. winter weather and risers are in effect for all county shaded in blue for saturday. if you are not shaded, that not mean you will not get any. revised he's extending all the way down into the ohio valley because the storm visiting us is just now getting its act together around the gulf coast and moving through the ohio river valley to visit us saturday morning. this is a quick moving storm that does not have a lot of moisture with it. you can see the signature on the radar. it's not a very big storm. the minister a little below snow on the topside. it will dig through southern maryland and it will deepen by the time gets off the coast, as

it comes across southern maryland, it will wrap somewhere around the top section of the storm, so we will have a typical forecast where the 95 corridor is the cut off. north and west, mostly snow. dow and east, a mix of rain. how much snow? will start between 3:00-6:00 a.m. and then taper off in the late afternoon. one to two inches in the 95 corridor including d.c., baltimore come up into cecil county. central baltimore, carol, 8a 2-4 inch warning. south and east, maybe an inch, but a mix of rain and snow. that is the way we see it now.

tonight, increasing clouds and a chance for us no later tonight with temperatures dropping. during the day tomorrow, we are starting with the snow in the morning that will taper off in the late afternoon hours. if you can wait until later in the day, most of it will be gone. high temperatures between 35-40. things will be pretty quiet sunday and monday. new year's eve should be ok. new year's day, a 40% chance for iran or a shower, but it does not look like a big deal. -- 40% for a rain or shower. >> as far as dyes and to negotiation is to pass a deal before the new year, if they do not approve a new farm bill by then, the price of milk could shoot up. right now, an average balance is $3.65 and it could soar between $6-$8.

our families, for our businesses, for our entire economy. the hour for immediate action is here. it is now. we are now at the point where in just four days, every american's tax returns but rigid schedule to got by law. every americans' paychecks will get considerably smaller. that would be the wrong thing to do for our economy, middle-class families, and it would be bad for businesses that depend on family spending. fortunately, congress can prevent it from happening if they act now. i just had a good and constructive discussion with senate and house leadership about how to prevent this tax hike on the middle class. i'm optimistic we still may be able to reach agreement that can pass both houses in time. senators reid m. mcconnell are working on such an agreement as

we speak. if an agreement is not reached in time between senator reed era senator mcconnell, i will urge senator reid to bring to the floor a basic package for an up or down vote, one never texting middle-class from a tax hike and extends the vital lifeline of unemployment insurance to 2 million americans looking for a job, and lays the groundwork for future cooperation on economic growth down the opposite reduction. i can hear you over here. i believe such a proposal could pass both houses with a bipartisan majority as long as the leaders allow this to come to a vote. if members of the house or the senate want to vote no, they can. we should let everybody vote. that's the way this is supposed to work. if you get a majority in the house and senate, then we should be able to pass a bill.

the american people are watching what we do here. their patience is already thin. this is deja vu all over again. america wonders why it is you cannot get stuff done in this town in an organized timetable. why does everything always have to wait until the last minute? we are now at the last minute. the american people will not have any patients for a politically self-inflicted wound to our economy -- not now. the economy is growing, but sustaining that trend is going to require elected officials to do their jobs. the housing market is recovering, but that could be impacted if people are seeing smaller paychecks. the unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since 2008, but already were saying consumers starting hold back because of the disfunction they

see in washington. economists, business leaders, they all think that we are poised to grow in 2013 as long as politics in washington do not get in the way of american progress. we have to get this done. i just want to repeat that we had a constructive meeting today. senators reid and mcconnell are discussing a potential agreement where we can get a bipartisan bill out of the senate and over to the house done in a timely sessions so that we meet the december 31st deadline. given how things have been working in this town, we always have to wait and see until actually happens. the one thing the american people should not have to wait and see is some sort of action. if we don't see an agreement between the two leaders in the senate, i expect a bill to go to the floor. i have asked senator reid to do

this. but a bill on the floor to make sure taxes on middle-class families do not go up and it is still available for 2 million people. let's not miss this deadline. they did not what the taxes go up. i just have to repeat. outside of washington, nobody a understands how it is back this seems to be a repeat pattern. they sit down and they discuss things and then things happen. if there are disagreements, they sort through them.
